Please note the following changes to the Embassy Theatre's Upcoming Venues

The first change is It’s Rodgers! It’s Hart! .  Please note that performances of this composer tribute for America’s prolific duo of writers of Broadway New York cabaret and earliest movie musicals will be performed in a family friendly cabaret setting beginning Friday, July 10, and commencing through the 26th with no Saturday evening performances.  Friday cabarets begin at 7:30 pm with an $8 cover charge and full cash bar from the lobby’s Passport Café.  Area singers will recount tidbits of the Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart collaboration in a café setting.  Sunday Brunch will be served at 1 pm for the 2:30 cabaret performance with an added brunch charge of $12.  Reservations for the special composer tribute and menu/seating details are available at 301-722-4692.

In line with summer children’s theatre activity New Embassy Theatre presents Cautionary Tales From Mother Goose Hollow, with an interactive theatre opportunity for children and their parents to enjoy.  A show devoted to the delightful, classic rhymes of Mother Goose will be enacted by an intergenerational cast with participation from the audience.  A light snack is also part of the ticket price of $7.  Showtime for the interactive Mother Goose with incidental music is 12:30 pm; running time for the show is 52 minutes.  Performances are Saturdays on July 11, 18, 25.  The show is suitable for all ages.  The New Embassy Theatre’s email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A Summer Arts Camp for musical theatre students will be given for three days, August 18-20.  Student ages

9-17 will be part of a mini-production, where exercises in vocal training, memorization, movement and styles will be represented in a presentation at the end of the three-day workshop.  Tuition is $90 per child for the nine hour workshop. Inquiries and details should be made to Linda Julien at 301-722-4692.  A staff of five adult teachers will guide the workshop production.

Audiences of romantic comedy and earliest vestiges of Neil Simon-like humor will get a historical charge from W. S. Gilbert’s nineteenth century spoof on romance addiction with Engaged! to play nine laugh packed performances opening Friday August 7 and running through Sunday August 23.  Guest artists from Manhattan augment the terrific Embassy talent pool to engage audience members in a send up of the condition of falling in love.  Writer Gilbert, who later collaborated with musical partner Sullivan to produce so many iconographic British operettas and spoofs of the human condition, adds in Engaged! a fanciful supposition of the lead character’s inability to be faithful, by proposing to every woman he meets after falling in love each time.  A fast-paced three-act comedy under two hours will be presented Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm with Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm.  Reservations are available at 301-722-4692.

Reprising their comedy club sketches format, Those Guys comprised of area comedians and Ambassador corps actors will provide social overviews and belly laughs for two more shows on Friday August 28 at 7:30 and 9 pm.  Cover charge is $5 and a full cash bar is available, for the 21-plus crowd.  Reservations are suggested by calling 301-722-4692.
