The First Annual Deep Creek Lake (DCL) State Park Volunteers' Bass Tournament to benefit the Forest Canopy Walkway project will be held Sunday, September 6.  There will be cash first through fifth place prizes (amounts dependent of number of entries) with other prizes awarded through tenth place.

The Forest Canopy Walkway project will allow visitors a unique view of the park's tree tops.  It will span 300 feet,  rise to a height of 85 feet and have partial wheelchair accessibility.  This addition to DCL promises to educate the public about the importance of keeping a forested buffer around our lake to ensure the health of our watershed and everything in it.

The entry fee is $80 until September 1 and increases to $100 up to the day of the tournament.  The registration application can be obtained at www.discoverycenterdcl.com or in person at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center and Headquarters or at Bill's Outdoor Center.  Call (301) 387-7067 for further information.  This event is sponsored by Bill's Outdoor Center and discoverycenterdcl.com.

A local event I can identify with--a bass tournament! Are there separate categories for acoustic and electric?
