The Allegany Arts Council invites photographers from throughout the tri-state region to submit their artwork to the jury for possible inclusion in the Saville Gallery’s 19th Annual Tri-State Photography Exhibition. The jury drop-off date for all entries is Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Saville Gallery, which is located at 9 N. Centre Street in Downtown Cumberland's Arts & Entertainment District. This year's juror is Lynn Silverman, a photography professor from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
Artists may submit up to two (2) entries in any of the three jury categories: Black & White, Color, or Special Effects. Members of the Allegany Arts Council will be charged a $5 jury fee for each entry. Non-members will be charged a $10 jury fee for each entry. New members are always welcome and encouraged! Artist awards are sponsored by the Allegany Arts Council (Best of Show--$200 cash); Vibrant Images (1st Place: Black & White--$125 cash); The Art Gallery (1st Place: Color--$125 gift certificate); and Graphicus Atelier (1st Place: Special Effects--$125 cash). A People's Choice Award ($125 cash), sponsored by DeWitt Camera Centre, will also be presented at the end of the show, based on voting by gallery visitors during the course of the exhibition. Application forms for 19th Annual Tri-State Photography Exhibition are now available from the Saville Gallery. You may also download a PDF version of the application from www.alleganyartscouncil.org.
