All Allegany County Transit personnel will participate in an Employee In-Service Training Day on Friday, January 13, 2012. Therefore, public transportation services will not be offered by Allegany County Transit. Neither fixed route bus service nor All Trans vans will operate.
Allegany County Transit is pro-active and reviews all aspects of safety twice a year as part of Allegany County’s Workplace Safety Program. According to James S. Stafford, Jr., Allegany County Transit Division Chief, all employees participate in an eight hour training session. He stated: “Allegany County Transit emphasizes safety. All employees receive this specialized training twice a year. This important employee training benefits all passengers.”
There are two sessions. Safety and Security will be taught in the morning by Richard L. DeVore, Allegany County Department of Emergency Services Director, Susan Lee, Allegany County Emergency Management Division Chief, and Kevin Lewis, Washington County Division of Emergency Services Director. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) Recertification Training will be taught in the afternoon by John E. Herath, Allegany County Emergency Medical Services Division Chief, and Larry E. Schlossnagle, Allegany County Risk Manager. The training is held at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in the Multi-Purpose Building.
