kehrwaldKehrwald Consulting, a management consulting business, wants to change the way nonprofit and for-profit organizations do business in Western Maryland.

“We know that hiring permanent team members isn’t always economically feasible, so we offer companies and nonprofits an alternative—an outside partner in their success,” explained Kristin Kehrwald, owner and Frostburg resident.

The company provides tailored marketing, project management, and fundraising services at affordable prices, including discounted services for nonprofits. “We help our clients effectively bridge the gap between what they can do and what they wish they could do,” noted Kehrwald. “It’s gratifying to help local and regional organizations realize their goals, whether it’s a simple task like writing ad copy or something more complex like responding to a grant opportunity.”

A seasoned communications and development professional, Kehrwald cut her teeth as a staff member on a congressional campaign and later in the fundraising offices of Baltimore-based nonprofit organizations. Since that time, she's staffed a capital campaign, worked for a county executive, handled media and public relations for a multi-state consortium, managed marketing communications for a law firm, ran a freelancing business, and led a small nonprofit organization. Kehrwald recently served as the External Affairs Coordinator for the UMCES Appalachian Laboratory where she oversaw a host of creative community outreach, development, and administrative initiatives, most notably the launch of a seven-part community learning series (625+ attendees) and a successful effort to increase fundraising revenue by 52%.

Kehrwald Consulting offers clients access to its larger network of graphic designers, printers, web designers, technology gurus, photographers, videographers, illustrators, caterers, administrative professionals, and policy experts. A woman-owned company, Kehrwald Consulting is registered with the eMaryland Marketplace and in the process of becoming a recognized Minority Business Enterprise in Maryland.

Ms. Kehrwald volunteers for a number of organizations and groups in Allegany and Garrett Counties, and serves on WFWM's Advisory Council and FSU's Advisory Board for the Minors in Journalism and Public Relations. She is an occasional lecturer on media relations and marketing communications for FSU's English Department.
